SAGA draws from the shared lore of the artists’ respective family histories and their ties to the ocean; Sharon’s being of Norse/Highlander descent and Gillian’s from a long line of Atlantic seafarers and fishermen who spent their lives on or beside the sea. The central character in SAGA is a narrative vessel embodying glimpses of those who came before her and their irreverent relations with the other world – drifting between her imagined and altered reality – navigating the sea and stars in an avalanche of fleeting forces and suppositions.
